Saturday 20th July:
A linear walk along the Calder & Hebble Navigation - seven miles or 2.5 miles
The Calder & Hebble Navigation connects Sowerby Bridge on the Rochdale Canal with the Aire & Calder Canal at Castleford, as well as joining Huddersfield Broad Canal at Cooper Bridge.
Meet David on Platform 2 of Sowerby Bridge station at 10.30, to catch the
10.50 train to Brighouse, for a leisurely stroll back along the canal. Seven
miles with plenty of historic interest, including milestones and lock markers,
arriving back by 4pm – or join David at Brighouse Station, on Bradford Road at 11.05, walk to Elland (2.5 miles) then drop off and catch the bus back to Brighouse. Easy walking, suitable for families.

Walk starts from Brighouse Station bridge, Bradford Road, A641 at 11.10am.
No charge for the walk: bring a packed lunch and money for your rail ticket.
